Opening Times and Location
🟢 The event is running on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th April 2027.
🟢 The opening times are 9.30am to 4.30pm on both days.
🟢 The venue is The Grammar School at Leeds, Harrogate Road, LS17 8GS.
Entry Times and Prices
Due to new terrorism legislation (commonly known as Martyn's Law), and the security policy of the grammar school, we cannot allow more than 600 visitors in the event at any one time. This means we'll have an EARLY SHIFT (9.30am to 1pm) and a LATER SHIFT (1.30pm to 4.30pm) on both days.
THE NEED TO RESTRICT VISITOR NUMBERS TO 600 VISITORS ON EACH SHIFT, MEANS THE EVENT WILL BE TICKETS-ONLY ON BOTH DAYS. SO PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE WITHOUT A TICKET.
SINCE THERE ARE NOW 600 VISITORS ON EACH SHIFT, THE NUMBER OF STANDS AT THE EVENT HAS BEEN REDUCED FROM 80 TO 60.
The entrance prices for our 2027 event will be:
🟢 £7 for the SATURDAY EARLY SHIFT (9.30am to 1pm)
🟢 £5 for the SATURDAY LATER SHIFT (1.30pm to 4.30pm)
🟢 £5 for the SUNDAY EARLY SHIFT (9.30am to 1pm)
🟢 £4 for the SUNDAY LATER SHIFT (1.30pm to 4.30pm)
🟢 Unfortunately, there will be no concessions, no free tickets and no group tickets at this year's event (due to the new security arrangements).

Looking, Buying and Being Inspired
We'll have loads of brilliant things for you to see, buy and do, including 60 wonderful exhibitors from all over the country. They'll be selling a huge range of products for knitting, crochet, spinning, weaving, felting and dyeing. Please visit our EXHIBITORS LIST page to see who was at our event in 2026. We also have guilds and associations who can give you loads of advice and inspiration, and demonstrate crafts you may not have tried before.
Visitor Shift System
Due to new terrorism legislation (commonly known as Martyn's Law), and the security policy of the grammar school, we cannot allow more than 600 visitors in the event at any one time. This means we'll have an EARLY SHIFT (9.30am to 1pm) and a LATER SHIFT (1.30pm to 4.30pm) on both days, and a slightly smaller event than previously (60 stands instead of 80).
Travel, Parking and Accessibility
The address of the venue is The Grammar School at Leeds, Alwoodley Gates, Harrogate Road, Leeds. Please use LS17 8GS in your Sat Nav. For travel advice and a map, please go to our TRAVEL page. There's free parking for hundreds of cars just next to the entrance to our show. For people with disabilities, there's a Disabled parking zone and there's full access within the venue.
Venue
The Grammar School at Leeds is a superb setting for our show! It's a private school located in a rural setting on the northern outskirts of the city. The buildings are modern and stylish, with top-notch facilities. There are two very large car parks and plenty of light and airy space inside for our show.
Food and drink
Once again, the school will open its refectory (cafeteria) for our visitors, offering a range of meals, snacks and drinks in a very spacious dining area. Visitors to our previous shows loved the refectory, making comments such as "The food was very good and the prices really reasonable", "Large refectory so room to sit and take a breath!" and "The cafeteria was fantastic".

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to buy a ticket? YOU'LL NEED TO BUY A TICKET IN ADVANCE FOR OUR 2027 EVENT. This means you'll be turned away if you arrive without a ticket.
Why are there shifts for visitor entry? This is due to new terrorism legislation (known as Martyn's Law) and the security policy of the grammar school which means a strict limit of 800 people (including visitors, exhibitors and school staff) are allowed in the event at any one time. We'd normally have a lot more than this at the event, which is why we've had to introduce the new visitor shifts systems.
Do all visitors on an Early Shift need to leave the event at 1pm? Yes, all visitors on an Early Shift NEED TO LEAVE the event at 1pm. This is so they can all be away from the event (and parking spaces made available) for the people arriving for the later shift which begins at 1.30pm.
When will tickets stop being sold? Tickets will stop being sold when we've reached the maxiumum number of people for a particular shift. The Saturday Early Shift is very likely to sell out a few weeks before the event.
What are the ticket prices? Prices range from £7 for the Saturday Early Shift (9.30am to 1pm), to £4 for the Sunday Later Shift (1.30pm to 4.30pm).
Is there a discount for groups? We're sorry to let you know that our normal discounted prices for groups will not be happening this year. This is due to the new terrorism legislation and security policy of the grammar school which means a strict limit of 800 people (including visitors, exhibitors and school staff) are allowed in the event at any one time.
Do children need a ticket? We're sorry to let you know that under 16s cannot enter for free (as they did in previous years). They will need a ticket (which is the same price as an adult). This is due to the new terrorism legislation and security policy of the grammar school which means a strict limit of 800 people (including visitors, exhibitors and school staff) are allowed in the event at any one time.
Do carers need a ticket? We're sorry to let you know that a person who is coming to the event solely to help a visitor cannot enter for free (like they did in previous years). They will need to buy a ticket. This is due to the new terrorism legislation and security policy of the grammar school which means a strict limit of 800 people (including visitors, exhibitors and school staff) are allowed in the event at any one time.
Is there food? The school has a very good cafeteria (called the Refectory) which has a great range of food at very reasonable prices.
Is there disabled access? Yes, the show is completely accessible by wheelchair. There are disabled toilets (which don't require a key) and a disabled parking zone.
Do I need to bring cash? Almost all stalls take credit/debit cards and so does the cafeteria. But you'll need cash for some stalls and if you're paying for entry on the front desk. There's no cash machine at the school. The nearest cash machine is 5 mins drive along the A61 towards Leeds, at the BP petrol station.
I'm having trouble paying online for a ticket, what do I do? Please ring Nick on 07741 452295 and he'll sort you out.
Are dogs allowed? The school policy is not to allow dogs on the school grounds unless they are Guide Dogs or other official Assistance Dogs.
Is all the yarn expensive? Not all the yarn is expensive. There'll be a huge range of yarn from inexpensive to luxury.
Is it a long walk from the car park? There are several car parks at the school. The closest is a couple of minutes walk to the show's entrance, and the others are a 3-4 minutes walk. The parking is free and marshals will be there to show you where to go when you arrive.
Can you help with taxi bookings? We're very happy to help you book a taxi to and from the Leeds train station. To do this, please visit our Vehicle Sharing page in the lead up to the event. A one-way taxi fare is about £16 and takes about 20-25 minutes.
Can I leave and return? Yes, you can leave the show and return during your shift time. On first entering the show, you'll get a wrist band for your shift, which you can use to gain re-entry if you leave the show (as long as your shift has not ended).
Are there plenty of seats? Yes, we have plenty of seating at the show, particularly in the very large cafeteria (Refectory).
Can my partner pop in for free to get a coffee? Unfortunately, this will not be allowed this year, unless someone else leaves the event at the same time. This is so we do not exceed the maximum number of people allowed in the event at any one time (due to the new terrorism legislation and security policy of the grammar school).
Can I stay overnight in a campervan? The school does not permit people to stay overnight in the car park.
