Workshops 2024
Here are the wonderful workshops that would have been at our event in April 2024. A very similar set of workshops will be at our event in 2025.
In this beginner's workshop, you'll learn the needle felting tips and tricks to create your own 3 dimensional Blue Tit. Everything needed will be provided - all the tools and wools, and even a basics beginner bag to take home with you!
The workshop is run by Daisy from Felt Wildly who is an expert in needle felting and an experienced tutor.
COST: This workshop costs £12 which includes all the tools and wools, and a basics beginner bag to take home with you.
DAY: SATURDAY and SUNDAY
TIME: The workshop lasts for 1 hour and runs from 12.15pm to 1.15pm on both days.

Try your hand at spinning using a drop spindle, an ancient tool for converting fibre into yarn. You will be introduced to fibre handling and shown how to start spinning using the park and draft method. Plenty of supported practise time will follow so you can get to grips with your new hobby. At the end of the class you can take your spindle and fibre home to carry on spinning!
The workshop is run by Fiona from A Little Bit Sheepish, who knits, spins, designs, felts and teaches fibre arts.
COST: This workshop costs £25 which includes a kit with a drop spindle, 100g of Bluefaced Leicester fibre and spinning instructions, all boxed up and ready to go.

In this workshop, you'll learn this wonderful knitting technique which will let you to make beautiful shawls, scarfs and blankets. During the workshop, you'll prepare smaller samples to train your skills. You'll also receive video tutorials on the most complicated parts of the technique, and afterwards there'll be online assistance to complete a big project. You need to be an intermediate knitter able to use circular needles.
The workshop is run by Iveta Kulina of Baltic Knits who is an experienced knitter and tutor.

In this workshop, you'll learn the basics of this fun yarn craft, including how to thread and use a punch needle, as well as lots of tips and tricks. You'll make a mini abstract punch needle piece in a hoop ready to display. You'll receive a kit containing the materials to make your punch needle hoop during the class, which you can take home afterwards including the punch needle tool. Available to all abilities.
The workshop is run by Amber Brigham of TuftingAround who is an award-winning rug designer and experienced tutor.
COST: This workshop costs £20 which covers a kit of materials which you can take home afterwards, including the punch needle tool.

Learn Bargello style tapestry with a contemporary twist and create a plant pot cover during the workshop for you to take away. No need to bring anything with you - suitable for most abilities.

Learn how to work 3 types of visible darning. Create patches and patterns to mend and reinforce and breathe life into older garments. All materials will be provided to work with.
No previous skills required.
Samples made during the workshop will be able to be taken away and some basic mending tools in the form of a pack will be provided.

Join us and create your very own stunning rag wreath on the theme of Spring. You'll be crafting using eco friendly sourced materials, with the help and guidance of Yorkshire Blankets.
Heart or round wreath wire, all the materials and ribbons for hanging and bows.
No experience is necessary and is open to all, no matter your level of artistic flare.
The workshop is run by Victoria Cawthorne of Yorkshire Blankets Limited who is an experienced crafter and tutor.

Debbie will guide you through the knotting techniques needed to make your very own plant hanger.
All materials are provided.

Tunisian Crochet for beginners will cover the basics of this fab technique. We'll work through some of the basic techniques and get you going on a small project. Basic crochet skills are needed. The cost of £30 includes yarn for the project and a Tunisian crochet hook.

Expand your skills with knitting lace and adding beads. We'll work on a swatch covering lace techniques and options for adding beads. You can practise your skills at home with the cowl pattern, yarn and beads provided. Skills needed: cast on, knit, purl, cast off. Please bring 4.0mm needles of your choice for the swatch (which will be worked flat).
This workshop is run by Fiona from A Little Bit Sheepish who is an experienced tutor and knitter.
COST: This workshop costs £20 which includes all the yarn for the swatch and the cowl, the beads, and the instructions. Please bring 4.0mm needles of your choice for the swatch (which will be worked flat).
